Is Laptop Size That Important?
The question in notebook computers has become, “Does computer portability really matter or is it more important to have a powerful workhorse computer that allows you to fit all your software and save as many movies as will fit on your computer?” Another question may be whether the smaller dimensions are more valuable or if the light-weight portability is the main concern. I think the accessibility of different types of portable computers in today’s day and age lets us really personalize our productivity machines into something that works for us all and doesn’t always have to be standard for us all.
The announcement of the cutting edge macbookair by Apple has really given us a choice with the size and what kind of mobile computer we drag around with us all the time. At less than 3 pounds and thinner than a picture frame, we don’t have to strain our shoulders every time we travel. It has a 13 inch wide-screen and a normal keyboard. Why wouldn’t I be interested? This is the very feature I have been looking for.
When I first observed the advertisement for the MacBook Air with a slim, easy to handle laptop computer coming out of that little envelope, small envelope, I was just stunned. Now, that’s what I’ve been looking for. Now it doesn’t have to be a major accomplishment to take my portable computer with me anymore! No extra bag that can weigh almost as much as the portable computer, no more heavy lifting, no longer taking up all that extra room! What a joy!
The frequently asked question of whether size really matters is in front of us now and my answer, when it comes to a compact portable notebook computer is a booming, “yes, Yes, YES!” Size does matter as well as weight. For me and my computer smaller is certainly better.
